So I was personally invited last week to do a walk-through of the brand new Cosmopolitan Hotel set to open December 15th 2010 inside City Center. The Hotel itself consists of 2 towers. The tower facing closest to the strip was designed for Condo Living (square building) and the other as a Condo Hotel (long narrow building next to Vdara). Before jumping into the details let me paint a preview of what I had encountered in person.

PARKING & VALET SERVICE AT COSMOPOLITAN HOTEL
3 out of 5 stars

Arriving at the Cosmopolitan Hotel by shuttle bus I was dropped off at the valet, limo entrance on the southwest side of the building. The parking deck is sufficient and was exclusively built for the cosmopolitan. Access to the hotel by car is available via the west entrance bridge which crosses over the highway leading you along Vdara and Aria into the hotel. Accessibility from the strip is also available but look to keep away as you will be fighting strip traffic all the way in. Traveling by foot is easiest, Yes! the hotel front doors open up right onto the strip so air conditioning and 5 star amenities are right at your feet. This hotel by far has the nicest valet service entrance with granite marble flooring and designs within the public parking entrance you know to expect something special

MAIN HOTEL ENTRANCE
4 of 5 Stars

Making my way into the hotel I was greeted with square columns that extended 30ft. high into the ceiling these pillars changed texture, color and design every few seconds to present a different ambiance and pleasureable experience during checkin. Custom designed check-in counters lined the back separated and giving you a personable check in experience unlike the typical buffet style check-in’s you encounter at most hotels.

THE CASINO AT COSMOPOLITAN HOTEL
3 of 5 stars

The gaming component of the hotel leaves a bit to be desired personally I prefer a wide space to preview the winnings excitement and power of the casino floor at its best but because of the original design nature of the hotel they did the best with what they had. The casino inside Cosmo is long and narrow with casino machines trickled throughout the playing area alongside the tables. This gave off a mixed vibe as the drones that pay hommage to the metal gods rarely interact on a social level unlike their brethren on the tables.

If you are a large group of friends, bachelor party, etc. get to the tables early as you could possibly find yourself disparately dispersed amongst the gaming floor with no congruency. For true VIP Clientele the private gaming areas of the hotel are a bit light although they did some custom revolutionary techniques like having islands of vip areas throughout the hotel with closed drapes to privatize your experience, still not the greatest leaving you accessible to the general population. In today’s world however showing up your talents, money and fame is welcomed so let’s wait and see if this design approach pays off.

What impressed me most about the standard cheapest unit is that you can find it offered on discount for as low as 120 per night and this room can easily accommodate 2 persons with some level of privacy. The purple accents throughout the rooms and modern bathrooms and bedroom amenities make it a must for business travelers or visitors to Las Vegas.

TERRACE 1-BEDROOM

Similar to the studio terrace rooms offered above however this unit comes with a bit more privacy as it has closing doors to wall off the kitchen and den area. NIGHTLIFE
5 of 5 start
  • NIGHTCLUBS
The buzz around town has been about the Resident nightclub MARQUEE. Run by the TAO Group this venue promotes nightlife at its best and is sure if anything else to keep this hotel afloat with just the high end clientele it looks to attract through its doors. Marquee sits alongside the east corridor facing the strip to the east and Aria to the south. The nightclub is situated next to the beach club and will offer Day and Nightlife events. For detailed information, bottle service and reviews on marquee CLICK HERE.
  • BARS
The Bars are plentiful inside the Cosmopolitan hotel which offer a lounging ability to anyone who just wants to relax without the hustle of the high powered nightclub marquee situated above. The Cosmopolitan Hotel caters towards a younger demographic mainly between the ages of 25-50 and its evident with their plentiful social gathering area. The main attraction the Chandelier bar which is situated on the east side of the casino. The bar is multi-leveled and represents the revolutionary tactics needs to be pulled off in order to present Cosmopolitan more as a hotel and than a condo building.
POOL
Now hotel is complete these days with out world class beach club to entertain guest during the day. The Cosmo has made an extreme attempt at keeping its guests entertained at all times and the day will be nothing short of the night-time activities available. The Beach Club at Marquee is an attached entertainment complex occupying the open area pool which lies between both of the Cosmopolitan’s Towers and is elevated 5 floors over looking city center and the strip. The pool is long and rectangular similiar in design to Wet Republic at MGM with Cabana’s lining both sides of the bathing area.
  • VILLAS - The greatest draw to the Beach Club at Marquee and Cosmopolitan for that matter are the unique 3 story villas occupying the North side Pool area. These behemoth huts are 3 levels of pure partying pleasure each giving you private access to Marquee nightclub and free attendance to the festive beach club pool party which will take place during the Spring and Summer Months. The Villas get our vote for the best bachelor party suites in Las Vegas.
RESTAURANTS
5 of 5 stars
Another strength of the hotel is its restaurants inhabiting most of the 2nd level floor just above the gaming area. This is a culinary craze with notable establishments including the fame STK and others.
AMMENTITES
The hotel is loaded with them and they are really looking to accommodate the Young professional player and/or group that wants to enjoy the elegance of Las Vegas at a great rate. Here are a few highlights of what I feel visitors to the cosmopolitan will enjoy:
  • FREE Wireless Internet standard for all guests and available in the hotel Lobby as well
  • In Room Chef Service
  • In Room Bar Room Service
  • Total Comp Players Card Services
